The Times and Unifo university courses

The best things about Philosophy:

arrow "I did not have many contact hours a week which allowed me to do more independent study. "
Georgie, at The University of Nottingham - Read more

arrow "There is a lot of contact time and opportunity for discussion/writing essays. Also the department is very friendly and always ready to help."
Katy, at King's College London, University of London - Read more

arrow "The subjects interesting and I like how you can express your own point of view so long as you have reason for it. This is really beneficial to me as it encourages me to examine my opinions thoroughly and question why I have them. "
Kathryn, at Durham University - Read more

arrow "Tutorials are a great way to clarify your thoughts and argue with like minded people."
Thomas, at Durham University - Read more

The worst things about Philosophy:

arrow "I like it all really. At first I hated the Logic component as it was quite mathematical. I think this is a common feel with many philosophy students as most good philosophy courses have a Logic component at least initially and this is far from comfy essay writing. However, it challenged me and meant I worked harder on it and in the end I received my highest marks in Logic."
Kathryn, at Durham University - Read more

arrow "Lectures are of little use as you can read up about the topic more effectively in your own time."
Thomas, at Durham University - Read more

arrow "The emphasis on history of Philosophy - e.g. in first year we study both Greek and 'Modern' (i.e. Descartes to Kant) Philosophy but not Philosophy of language. "
Katy, at King's College London, University of London - Read more

arrow "There were not enough tutorial meetings. "
Georgie, at The University of Nottingham - Read more
