Biology, Chemistry, Maths

Why did you decide to study your degree programme?
Interesting career choice as like working with people

Explain how your day is made up. For example, do you have labs/seminars/tutorials/lectures?
Mainly lectures With 4/5 labs per semester 10 workshops each semester

How much extra work/reading are you required to do out of lectures?
Yes - To understand what is being taught, especially for the workshops you work on the knowledge from lectures and the directed reading

Is there anything else you think is relevant or that you would like to add in respect of your course?
More contact with the public

The best and worst parts of the course
What do you like best about your degree programme?
Labs

What do you like least about your degree programme?
Long hours compared to other courses at the university

Academics and course content
What do you think of your university's academics and facilities?
Very good

Explain how you expected your course to be and how it compares to how it actually is. Give an outline of the content of the course.
Long hours but lectures are rewarding as they are all pharmacists so do not teach stuff that is not actually required.

ERASMUS scheme, study abroad and work placements
Have you been on a work placement/year in industry? How has it benefited your study and career prospects:
I haven't, but placements are in the summer and in the 3rd and 4th year

It is a very good university with a top class degree in pharmacy and other subjects.

What is the academic life like at your university?
Very good as everyone wants to work

Sport and extra curricular
What are the sport and other activities on offer like at your university?
Very good,have the midweek sides but also chances to play sport at the weekend

The social scene
What is the social scene (and/or nightlife) like at your university? Is it particularly alcohol orientated?
No

What do you think of the city your university is based in or near (as a city)?
Portsmouth is a very nice city to live in as the university and the town are very close so most of the time is walking distance

Accommodation
Do you live in a halls of residence or a student house (or college)? What would you suggest is best in your opinion?
Student house.Shows what life is like away from parents as you have to pay for bills sort out problems with the house.

If you are in a hall or college, is it catered or self catered? Which is better for the first year in your opinion and why?
First year is better to be in halls,as you know you are safe and where to head to in the 1st few weeks if you get lost.

Approximately, what is the average cost of accommodation per week in your first year for catered and non-catered halls/colleges?
About £90pw self-catered. £100 catered
