The University of Birmingham in one paragraph...
"I'd say Birmingham University is an absolutely fantastic University to be a student at and has a very pretty campus. The city is lively and vibrant and very multicultural and there is loads to do. The accommodation is lovely, although expensive and the student village Selly Oak is a great place to live with loads to do. " says Lyndsey - read the whole review here.

The best and worst things about The University of Birmingham:
"Best things include the campus and its people. This is a truly social university.
The worst things is sometimes the lack of organisation regarding certain aspects of your course. However support is always available."

"The best thing is the campus. It is so beautiful and charming. I love the lake on the vale, the halls (especially Tennis Courts- best halls by far!), the bbqs in the summer, the redbrick buildings (and the free student newspaper called Redbrick), Fab and Fresh (Saturday at the SU) and I especially love that everyone is from all over the country (and the world) so some of the accents are amazing.
The worst thing is the lack of seats in the library during revision period. Everything is excellent and if it's not then there is always someone to contact to make it right!"

"The best thing about Birmingham University is the nightlife and the lively vibrant city. The shopping is great (in the Bullring) and Broad Street is great with all the bars and clubs. You'll definitely have an amazing time going out in Birmingham and there's also loads to do during the day as well. The University is a really pretty campus and has a good sports centre, library and Student Union. People from other Universities have said that our SU is fantastic and I believe it has just been refurbished as well."

"The campus is beautiful. Selly Oak, however, where students live in 2nd and 3rd year, is fairly ugly and the houses are nowhere as nice as some other universities. They tend to be fairly small and long rows of terraced houses make it quite noisy. "

"The best thing is that it is in Birmingham which is a great city to live in as it is huge with so many places to go and things to do.
The worst thing might actually be the size of the university and the amount of people on each course. For example there are 350 people in some of my lectures which means you never get to know your tutors personally or many of the people on you course."

"Best - leading research institution with world class academics, meaning that you are taught by leaders in their field.
Worst - very elitist and a lot of students are from incredibly privileged backgrounds at the institution and under representation of students from state schools/low income backgrounds."

"Best- definitely the social life, nights out every weeka nd the smaller the hall you live in the better as you become close with everyone.
Worst- the amount of time spent alone."
