Advice about work placements

From recent reviews, students say the following about work placements:

"The work placement was not only life changing but we applied psychology to education and on other placements people had to do similar for their individual placement. The module requires a 20 minute interview with a member of the organization we worked with, which was then transcribed and analyzed under psychological theories of work for the modules assessment. It made me realize that although I enjoy educational psychology there's alot more to it than meets the eye, which is why I chose to continue for the upcoming year as one of my module choices."

"Studying law, it is vital to gain as much work experience as possible in order to understand the excessive amounts of work involved and additionally to boost your C.V. since law is a competitive programme of study and standing out from the crowd will benefit you in interviews. I have had numerous amounts of work experience, both during and before university. I ensured that I varied the departments in which I interned with in order to gain a greater understanding of what area of law I'd like to specialise in when my legal training is completed.
*Tip* When applying for work experience with solicitors' firms or barristers' chambers, always go directly to them and ask them face-to-face. Writing emails or letters is a waste of time and they're usually unlikely to get in touch with you."
